Basic introduction of the project building

Venture Tea started its operation in 2005 with a handful of employees and the growth rate of the business is incremental, thus providing quality products and services to business partners around the world. Venture Tea exports high-class Ceylon tea to all parts of the globe under Branded Tea, private label, and bulk. Venture Tea produces and exports some of the freshest pure Ceylon tea that can be found. The dynamic team at Venture helps bring creativity and innovation together to produce international standard quality tea products that can be found in 28 countries across the globe.

Key innovative and low-impact design features of the building

The building incorporates energy-efficient lighting and HVAC systems to minimize energy usage. Users are encouraged to turn off lights and electronic devices when not in use, and to utilize natural light and ventilation whenever possible. Water conservation is emphasized through measures like low-flow faucets and toilets, and users are urged to report any leaks or water waste. Responsible water usage is promoted, including avoiding flushing anything other than toilet paper and turning off faucets when not needed. The facility has a comprehensive waste management system, including recycling and composting programs. Users are encouraged to participate by properly sorting and disposing of waste materials, with recycling and composting bins conveniently placed throughout the building.

Facilities to be used by the community

Restrooms are located on each floor.
Water fountains and vending machines are located throughout the building.
A cafeteria serving a range of food and beverages is located on the ground floor.

Construction stage environmental impact reduction

When planning for construction work, it is important to consider the impact on building users, such as noise and disruption. This was communicated to building users in advance to minimize inconvenience. In addition, the environmental impact of the work was considered, and efforts were made to minimize waste and energy consumption.

Predicted and actual CO2 emissions(with Solar PV system)

Predicted CO2 emissions – 181.52 kgCO2/m2/yr.
Actual CO2 emissions – 1.49 kgCO2/m2/yr.

Outcomes of the POE study

The post-occupancy evaluation is to take place at the end of June.
